Fees and fines
Access to the university library and its holdings is generally free of charge.
However, fees are charged for certain services such as notifications by post, reservations for interlibrary loans and database searches that are subject to a charge. The following fines will be charged if media are not returned on time:
Fines payable per medium (book, CD-ROM, etc.)
- up to one week (7 calendar days): €1.00,
- up to two weeks: €2.00,
- up to three weeks: €5.00 and
- for each additional week: €5.00.
These rates also apply to interlibrary loans.
The maximum fine per medium is €20.00.
The fine for failing to return weekend loans on time is €1.00 per medium and day, with an additional fine being charged if the medium is returned after 10 a.m.
If you lose a book, you will be charged the replacement value plus an administrative fee of €15.00.
A fee of €1.50 will generally be charged for orders for interlibrary loans. Fees and fines can be paid in cash only from 9.00 a.m. to 4.45 p.m on Monday to Friday.
